Children's Centres provide a range of universal and targeted services for children and their parents from pre-birth through to 5 years of age.
We provide opportunities for early learning, play and social interaction; our services are run by qualified early years specialists and designed to support children's early learning and development.
Services provided by partners enable access to a range of professionals to support the health needs of young children.
Additionally, children’s centres provide information, advice and guidance relating to family support, parenting, employment, and training.
Universal services include antenatal and postnatal midwifery clinics, baby weighing clinics, stay and play sessions, music and movement group, physical play sessions, adult learning opportunities, P3 advice service (including housing/debt/benefits advice), employment support and advice.
Targeted services to support children with SEND communication and interaction skills eg Language for Life, Attention Hillingdon and parenting support and programmes, Well-being for Mums and Talking Therapies.
Priority is given to families who reside in the borough and have children aged under five years; additional priority for some targeted services, is given to vulnerable families who may seen to be in need of our help.
Services are free at the point of access for residents, although there may be a minimal charge for some longer programmes or physical activity classes to help towards the cost of a manual or specialist tutor.
For specialist services such as targeted family support there is a referral process; this can take the form of self-referral or be completed by another professional.
